UN Global Compact

Finserv Experts is a proud adherent of the UN Global Compact. This not only commits us to fighting discrimination and exclusion in the workplace, but to a basic respect for human dignity in all we do.  Belonging to the UN Global Compact commits us to upholding the following principles (these can also be found on the UN Global Compact website at: https://unglobalcompact.org/what-is-gc/mission/principles)

 

Human Rights

  • Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
  • Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuse.

 

Labour

  • Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
  • Principle 4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
  • Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labour; and
  • Principle 6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

 

Environment

  • Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
  • Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
  • Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

 

Anti-Corruption

  • Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Engagement Screening

In addition to being outstanding thought leaders in their field, we ensure that each of our consultants meets all the necessary requirements to perform their roles.   As part of the onboarding process for every engagement, we perform each of the following checks:

  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of address
  • Right to work
  • Insurability
  • Suitability
  • Referenceability
  • Continuity
  • Adherence to the principles of the UN Global Compact

In addition to these standard checks, we also perform any additional validations that might be required for a specific engagement.  In the past, these have included:

  • Criminal background checks
  • Credit checks
  • Specific visas, work permits, or letters of invitation
  • Government security clearances
