Finserv Experts is delighted to announce that global thought leader Iqbal Alikhan has agreed to join us as our practice leader for Middle East and Africa. Iqbal served with IBM for many years as their top global expert on international payments and trade finance; prior to that he served with Citibank, where he led the acquisitions group in launching its cards business across a group of emerging economies.
In his career, Iqbal has advised or delivered solutions to most of the world’s top commercial banks, as well as working with central banks and finance ministries around the globe. The Middle East and Africa region is embedded deep in our firm’s cultural DNA; much of the financial inclusion project experience that led us to found FSE in the first place comes from project work that various members of our firm did there in prior positions. Having Iqbal join our firm allows us to go to market in a region that remains one of the hotbeds of truly innovative financial solutions. We are thrilled that Iqbal has chosen to join us.
